My grandfather served during the second world war
while being called a n____ by the people he was fighting for.
my uncle served during Vietnam
but it still didn't stop him from speaking out on what was wrong.
My brother in law fought in Desert Storm
still hasn't gotten all the things they promised him when he joined.
and plus, I was born here, and I live here.
I'll prob'ly die here. That's why i care
enugh to tell authority that my life matters
and more than 1 percent of us should have life's advantages
and I should have the same chances as the guy next to me,
and you should recognize all of the ways that I make history
but just because I'm pointing out the flaws in the system
That doesn't mean I don't love the country that I live in
Some avoid topics that are too real.

Hi America, lately I dont feel united
We used to have a hand that fed but everybody bite it, or bit it.
I'm tryna grow and get a good physician
But government been trippin, with the crazy politicians.
That hinders my attention, on moving expedition, positivity's decreasing greatly by the minute.

Is an illusion, and obscene when I glare at the screen

And all society is trying to be something we're not.

In every city, every street we are cautious of cops.
In fear that if we pick a pencil up, we're gonna get shot.

With Donald Trump our president, our wisdom has to be stopped
